Build, enrich, and control your JOGL Network profile.
Your profile is how other members and communities discover you. The richer it is, the better your search matches and event recommendations.
What's on a profile
Your profile page has an editable section for each of:
- Skills
- Experience
- Education
- Projects
- Publications
- Patents
- Repositories
The header shows your avatar, name, and your contact and social links.
Enriching your profile
Instead of filling everything in by hand, you can let JOGL Network help. On your own profile you'll find three actions:
- Auto-Enrich — enriches your profile with AI from public sources (LinkedIn, OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar, and web research). Opens a dialog where you confirm before it runs.
- Interview — updates your profile through a short, guided Q&A. You can answer by typing or by voice (dictation).
- Reset — clears AI-enriched data if you want to start over.
Self-enrichment is subject to a cooldown (you can't re-run it constantly). If you try again too soon, you'll be told when it's available next.
Controlling who sees what
- Public profile — a switch in Settings controls whether your profile is publicly visible or private. See Privacy & GDPR.
- Per-contact visibility — each contact or social item can be shown publicly or limited to specific communities, so you can share your email with one community but not the whole network.
Claimed vs. cold profiles
Communities can add people as internal ("cold") profiles before those people join — for example when importing a member list. When you sign up with a matching identity, you can claim that profile, which links the community's data to your real account. Once claimed, the profile is yours to edit and control.
